Openda confirms he is very happy with his first year at Leipzig. Lois Openda, striker for the Belgian national team Confirmed that he is enjoying his first Bundesliga season with RB Leipzig.
The 23-year-old insists he couldn’t have had a better first half of the Bundesliga season after scoring 11 goals and providing four assists.
“Feeling good and feeling at home is important. I know I can definitely do more,” Openda said.
“I want to be a top player. Playing against the best teams in the world, moving to Leipzig can help me do that.”
Opena is showing great form alongside Safi Simons, who has also recently joined. The Dutchman scored four goals and provided seven assists and they filled a gap in attack after the loss of Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea and Dominic Szoboszlai. Went to Liverpool last summer.
Leipzig is 4th in the Bundesliga, 3 points ahead of 5th place Borussia Dortmund and 1 point behind 3rd place Stuttgart.
Lois Openda was born on 16 February 2000 in Liege and plays for RB Leipzig. He played for Patro-Othee Football Club from 2012-2013, for FC Lüttich from 2013-2014, for Standard Lüttich from 2014-2015, for Club Brügge KV from 2015-2020, for Vitesse Arnheim from 2020-2022, for RC Lens from 2022-2023 and has played for RB Leipzig since 2023.
