Tottenham defender Cristian Romero admits his side are not as good at rebuilding as their giants and is hopeful the club can identify the right people to take responsibility. Other than the coach or the players, with chairman Daniel Levy linked to the role. Romero started at
the weekend’s big match but lasted only 15 minutes before being substituted due to injury. Shortly after, with Spurs leading 2-0, they conceded the opening goal that led to the defeat.
The result means Tottenham are now four games without a win in all competitions. And are seven points off the top four. Asked in his post-match interview whether they are now trailing the big boys in terms of rebuilding, Romero asked:
“I would say no comment, but the truth is City strengthen every year. You see how Liverpool strengthen,” the 26-year-old Argentine replied.
“Chelsea strengthen, they strengthen, they don’t do well, ยูฟ่าเบท http://ufabet999.app they strengthen again and you see the results. These are the things we have to try to do.’
Last summer, Levy approved a club-record £65m deal for Dominic Solanke, along with promising youngsters Lucas Bergvall. And Archie Gray, but it proved to be insufficient.
“Over the years, it’s always been the same people who have been held accountable – first the players, then the coaching staff,” Romero added.
“Hopefully now they realise something is wrong and who the real people are responsible for because with the structure of the club we can easily be contending for titles every year.”
